Box Score SAN ANTONIO – The New Mexico State women's tennis team was tripped up on Sunday in its 5-1 loss to UTSA at the UTSA Tennis Center.

Doubles action was back-and-forth on all three courts before the No. 2 doubles squad for UTSA bested
Yadira Rubio and
Quinty Janssen 6-3. After knotting it up at 5-5
Eli Arnaudova and
Helena Colvee were edged on court No. 3 7-5 by their Roadrunner counterparts.

Rubio was the first Aggie to fall in singles play, dropping a 6-4, 6-2 decision on court No. 4 to Charleen Tiwari. Janssen gave New Mexico State its lone point of the match after the freshman defeated her opponent from UTSA (6-9) 6-3, 6-3.

Playing at the top singles slot,
Rebecca Keijzerwaard did her best to fend off Denisa Ibrahimovic but ultimately fell 6-2, 6-4 before UTSA clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court No. 5. The Roadrunners added a fifth point for the 5-1 lead before play was halted.

New Mexico State will remain on the road as it head to Kingsville, Texas, for a 1 p.m. (MT) match on Wednesday, March 21.
