LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team is headed west on I-10 this week for the Western Athletic Conference Tournament as it looks to claim the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at the Mesa Tennis Center, hosted by Grand Canyon.

Playing as the No. 3-seed, the Aggies will square off against the sixth-seeded Redhawks of Seattle U at 10 a.m. (MDT) on Friday, April 27. SU heads into the tournament 8-13 overall on the year after going 1-4 in WAC play and have lost its last two matches.

Kyra Jung leads Seattle U with a 17-13 mark in singles action while Michelle Lui is 14-15 on the season. Kali McCollister is 13-13 while Hannah Gianan wraps up the list of double-digit winners for the Redhawks with 11 wins. In doubles play, the duo of Lui and Kelli Woodman is the only tandem with double-digit wins, checking in at 10-9 overall together at the top slot.

The winner between the Aggies and Redhawks will play the No. 2-seeded Roos of UMKC on Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m. with the winner playing for an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, April 29, at 10 a.m.
