LAS CRUCES, N.M. – What better way to kick off game week for New Mexico State football than at the Bosque Brewing Public House (901 E. University Ave. #3A) for a party celebrating the release of Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale in cans.
 
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 4-6 p.m. (MT). Members of the NM State Athletic Department as well as those from Bosque Brewing Co. will be on hand.
 
"Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale has been an exciting journey and it's been an amazing experience working with everyone in the athletics department and at the university in general, said Gabe Jensen, co-founder of Bosque Brewing Co. and an Aggie alum. "This beer combines two of my favorite things, beer and Aggie athletics and I'm so excited to be able to have them in my fridge and at tailgates."
 
Fans can purchase Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale in cans and merchandise at the event as well as season tickets for NM State football – which kicks off the 2018 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 8 p.m. (MT) on ESPN2.
 
"The collaboration with Bosque Brewing in the creation of Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale has been one of the more innovative and fun projects we have accomplished during my tenure," Moccia said. "Being one of the first schools in the licensed collegiate beer category was exciting and our relationship with Gabe Jensen and Kevin Jameson as NM State alumni brought passion to the project. Over the last year, Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale has been a fan favorite and a big seller at tailgate parties, Aggie games as well as postgame celebrations. I am happy that after a long wait we will all be able to enjoy Pistol Pete's 1888 Ale in cans. Not only is the can design and packaging distinct, it is a wonderful branding opportunity for NM State athletics. However, it being made available to over 1,000 points of sale will bring great awareness to New Mexico State University statewide. I know our alumni are excited and I look forward to the official unveiling later this month at Bosque Brewing in Las Cruces.
