LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State volleyball team continues Western Athletic Conference play when the team welcomes Seattle U and Grand Canyon to the Pan American Center. The Aggies face off against the Redhawks on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. MT. NM State concludes the weekend against the Lopes with first serve scheduled for noon.

Football season-ticket holders can use their bonus ticket for New Mexico State's match against Seattle U. Following the second set during the match against the Redhawks, there is a rolled taco giveaway for the first 200 students. Fans can get post-match autographs from the Aggie players following the match against GCU.

NOTEWORTHY NON-CONFERENCE
NM State closed non-conference play with a 10-3 record with the Aggies sweeping rivals UTEP and New Mexico on the road during the span. New Mexico State also took down Arizona in a five-set thriller at the Pan American Center for the program's first win over the Wildcats since volleyball became and NCAA sanctioned sport.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME
New Mexico State holds a 16-match winning streak at the Pan American Center. NM State ended the 2017 season on a 13-match home winning streak and despite the Aggies losing their first two matches at home last year, the team quickly rebounded and strung together the winning streak. Not only did the team win 13-straight home matches, New Mexico State only dropped three sets during the streak.
LAST TIME OUT
New Mexico State fell in the first matches of conference play when the team was defeated in five sets by California Baptist and CSU Bakersfield. In the five-set thriller against CSUB,
Tatyana Battle posted a double-double with 17 kills and 11 digs.
Savannah Davison also tallied double-digit kills with 15 in the loss.
Briana Ainsworth was a dig shy of a double-double when the setter recorded 20 assists and nine digs.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Seattle U comes into the match with an 8-6 overall record and a 1-0 league record. The Redhawks opened conference play with a sweep of Chicago State on Saturday. As a squad, SU posts 12.42 kills and 13.71 digs per set.
Shae Harris, the 2017 WAC Setter of the Year, controls the Redhawk offense as the senior leads the team with 488 assists for the season. Freshman Sofia Sanchez comes in as Seattle U's leader in kills with 129. The outside hitter is followed closely behind by Rachel Stark, who has 115 kills this season.
LOOKING AT THE LOPES
Grand Canyon comes in at 7-6 during the team's 2018 campaign. The Lopes are 0-1 in WAC play with a four-set loss to UMKC on their record. GCU averages 11.41 kills and 15.78 digs per set. The squad is also second in the league with 1.53 aces per set.
Kaira Moss leads the Lopes with 2.35 kills per set while Annabelle Kubinski posts a squad best .308 hitting percentage. Both middle blockers have a team-best 42 blocks so far this season. KJ Adams leads the WAC with a 0.48 aces per set average.
COMING UP: BACK IN WACTION
The Aggies hit the road for their next matches when NM State takes on UMKC on Thursday, Oct.4, at 6 p.m. MT and face Chicago State at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. New Mexico State volleyball is back at the Pan American Center on Oct. 18, when the squad welcomes Utah Valley to the City of Crosses.
