DENVER – New Mexico State track and field's Brooke Wallace was named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. This is the first conference weekly honor for the junior.
 
Wallace finished first in both of her races at the New Mexico Collegiate Team Invitational on Saturday. In the 200m, she ran 24.56, which ranks tied for sixth in the Aggie records. She also helped the 4x400m relay squad clock in a time of 3:43.66, which is second in the NM State indoor record books. Both times rank first in the WAC.
 
New Mexico State continues the indoor season with a two-day meet in Albuquerque, N.M. The team gets set to take on top competition during at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, which begins on Friday, Feb. 1.
