LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Two first-half goals were all Kansas City needed, as the Kangaroos fended off the NM State women's soccer team, 2-0, Thursday afternoon at the Soccer Athletic Complex.
Thursday's match, the final home tilt of the season, was also Senior Day. The Aggies (3-12-3, 2-5-0 WAC) honored their five soon-to-be graduates -Â

Kansas City (10-3-4, 2-2-2 WAC) broke through 15 minutes into the first half. Amanda Sampson, assisted by Lindsey Prokop, tallied her first goal of the season to give the Roos an early 1-0 advantage.
Prokop was rewarded for her generosity 10 minutes later. She scored an unassisted goal, her fourth of the year, at the 25:55 mark, extending Kansas City's lead to 2-0.
Despite the deficit, the Aggies kept pace with the Roos offensively. NM State logged nine shots in the first 45 minutes of play and another seven in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Sophomore forward
Sarah Trent carded a career-best six shots, including three on goal, to lead the Aggie attack. Freshman midfielder
Andrea Ridgely and junior defender
Katie Martinez each had one shot on goal.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper
Dmitri Fong made six saves, including five in the first half. NM State slowed the Roos' offense in the second half, limiting Kansas City to only one shot on goal.
