The Aggie men's and women's cross country teams head to the Western Athletic Conference Championships this weekend in Kansas City, Mo. The men's 8k begins at 9 a.m. MT, and the women's 6k gets going at 10 a.m. MT Saturday, Nov. 2, at Swope Park.

TITLE TALK
NM State and the eight other WAC members – California Baptist, CSU Bakersfield, Chicago State, Grand Canyon, Kansas City, Seattle U, UTRGV and Utah Valley – will compete for this year's title.
The Aggie women finished fourth at last season's WAC Championships, placing two competitors, including current-junior
Jess Dominguez, on the All-WAC Second Team. The men, meanwhile, took seventh a year ago, led by then-senior
Abel Ketema's top-20 finish.

THE AGGIES
NM State shined in its final tune-up for the WAC Championships earlier this month, as both the men's and women's squads grabbed top-three overall team finishes at the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, Calif. The women placed second in the 6k run, while the men took third in the 8k race.

Sophomore
Richelle Sandin was the top finisher for the women's team, coming in sixth overall with a time of 21:00.26. Freshman
Maggie Gibbs and senior
Ocean Stevens cracked the top 20, as well, coming in 16
th (21:36.37) and 18
th (21:38.19), respectively.

On the men's side, junior
Michael Kirwa placed seventh overall with a time of 24:25.61. Senior
Iley Bruce also finished in the top 20, taking 15
th with a time of 24:46.01.
