DELAND, Fla. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team squared off against Barry College during day one of the Stetson Invitational.
 
The day started with Harsha Challa losing a tightly contested, 4-6, 7-6, 10-8, contest to Xiyao Wang. Neus Torregrosa dropped a 3-6, 3-6, decision to Jilo Engelmann before Chloe Gavino fell 3-6, 6-4, 8-10. Gavi Kalaga also dropped a close match 0-6, 6-4, 6-10.
 
Then, Bella Nguyen picked up a win for the Aggies, taking down Qianxin Kong 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 before Lucia Josipovic fell 1-6, 0-6.
 
On the doubles side, Gavino and Josipovic teamed up to take down Wang and Aleshandra Bozrynslen 6-4.
 
The Aggies are back in action from the Stetson Invitational tomorrow, Nov. 2, at approximately 6 a.m. (MT).
