Rankings Watch
While averaging a double-double, Brooke Salas also ranks in the top-20 nationally in a number of categories. She ranks seventh in double-doubles (17), 12^th in rebounds (284), 12^th in defensive rebounds per game (8.0), 15^th in field goals made (188) and 16^th in rebounds per game (11.4).
 
Chance to Clinch
Heading into this Saturday's game, NM State has the chance to clinch the one seed in the conference tournament as well as the conference title outright. A win Saturday guarantees the Aggies the number-one seed in the WAC tournament. If New Mexico State wins and both California Baptist and Utah Valley lose one of their games this weekend, the Aggies clinch their fifth-straight WAC regular-season championship.

Scouting the Vaqueros
UT Rio Grande Valley is currently sitting at second place in the WAC with a 7-4 record and a 14-11 record overall. The last time the two sides met, Gia Pack scored 22 while Brooke Salas and Dominique Mills each scored 19 in a 71-63 Aggie win.
 
Idil Turk is the only Vaquero who averages double-figure points as she scores 10.6 per game. Turk dropped 19 in the Pan American Center earlier this season. UTRGV's next leading scorer is Quynne Huggins, who averages 9.5 points per game, and is followed closely by Madison Northcutt at 9.2 points per game. The Vaqueros excel at getting to the free throw line as they rank 28^th nationally in free throw attempts (515).
 
UT Rio Grande Valley boasts the top scoring defense conference, giving up just 61.4 points per game. Offensively, the Vaqueros score 63.1 points per contest which is good for sixth in the WAC.
 
Last Time Out
New Mexico State took its win streak on the road and took on Utah Valley on Feb. 14, and Seattle U on Feb. 16. The Aggies took care of business, downing Utah Valley 72-63 and Seattle U 83-72.
 
At UVU, NM State trailed at the half but outscored the Wolverines 27-12 in the third quarter and hung on down the stretch for the win. Gia Pack dropped 23 points and nine rebounds with Brooke Salas recording her 16^th double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Aggies trailed for much of their game against Seattle U before a 17-0 run to start the fourth quarter gave them the lead for good. New Mexico State held the Redhawks scoreless the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, while outscoring them 29-12 in the period, and went on to win 83-72. Salas recorded her 17^th double-double of the year with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Pack added 25 points and Stabresa McDaniel 15. Salas, Pack and McDaniel combined for 25 of the Aggies 29 fourth quarter points.
