LAS VEGAS – The New Mexico State men's tennis team wrapped up its time in Sin City with a 4-1 victory over Hawaii Sunday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Aggies (4-1) took the doubles point thanks to wins on court No. 2 and No. 1 against the Rainbow Warriors (2-3).

With a 1-0 lead,
Nicolas Buitrago gave New Mexico State another point after the start of singles play when he took down Chia-Hua Lu 6-1, 6-0 on court No. 6. Hawaii got a point back soon after when Blaz Seric took down
Martin Simecek 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 3 singles position.

Mauri Benitez put the Aggies ahead 3-1 after beating his counterpart on court No. 4 7-5, 5-4 before
Louis Menard clinched the match with a 7-6, 5-3 win on court No. 2 with bad whether coming in.

Stijn de Haan both had the lead before the match was halted and clinched due to rain.

NM State will continue its 61 days away from home with a road contest at Arizona next Saturday, Feb. 9.
