DAVIS, Calif. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team wrapped up its at the Golden Invitational with a 4-2 win over Saint Mary's Friday evening at the Marya Welch Tennis Center.

The Aggies took the doubles point despite dropping a match on court one first. The duo of
Stijn de Haan and
Martin Simecek first grabbed a win over their counterparts on court No. 2 before
Luis Flores and
Nicolas Buitrago grinded out a victory Daniel Krutik and Andy Watterson 7-6 on court No. 3 to capture the point.

Louis Menard gave the Aggies a 2-0 in singles action after besting James Watt 6-3, 6-4 on court No. 2. NM State's lead was cut to 2-1 after de Haan was taken down at the top singles position in three sets 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 before Matis Bot tied the match up at 2-2 after defeating
Enrique Asmar in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.

However, from that point on, it was all NM State. Buitrago put New Mexico State on top 3-2 after fending off Brian Lee on court No. 5 to win 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Flores bounced back from a one set deficit and captured the clinching point for the Aggies when be sent David Abfalter packing 6-7, 6-1, 6-3.
