LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State soccer team added Amanda Aleman and junior college product Ely Gonzalez for the 2019 season, head coach
Rob Baarts announced Thursday.

Lettered all four years at Chino Hills High School…varsity captain and scholar-athlete…helped lead squad to a D1 Baseline League championship as a freshman…guided Huskies to three-consecutive CIF quarterfinal appearances.
Personal: Daughter of Richard and Erica Aleman…has a younger sister, Jayden…cousin plays soccer at Benedictine University (Ariz.).
"Amanda will bring a high level of technical play to our midfield," said Baarts. "She plays with calmness and confidence that will allow us to be a ball-playing program. Coming from a high level of competition week in and week out will help Amanda transition to the NCAA DI level. We are very excited to have Amanda join our Aggie soccer family."

2018: Guided Phoenix college to a 17-3-1 record…scored 28 goals with 16 assists…led team in assists, goals and points (72)…had four goals twice, vs. GateWay (Sept. 8) and against Glendale (Oct. 18)…posted four assists against GateWay (Oct.9).
2017 (Phoenix College): Led Bears to a 23-1-1 record and an appearance in the NJCAA national semifinals…notched 31 goals on the season to lead the squad, good for fourth in NJCAA Division I…also recorded 18 assists, 10
th nationally…first on the team in points with 80…scored four goals against South Mountain (Aug. 22) and four in a 4-2 win over Arizona Western (Oct. 10)…tallied four assists in a 7-0 win over GateWay on Oct. 12.
Personal: Daughter of Luis and Isaura Gonzalez…has five siblings, Luisana (32), Vanessa (29), Karen (28), Jazmin (18) and Luisangel (14)…Sister Vanessa played soccer at Glendale CC and sister Jazmin is on the Phoenix College squad…majoring in nursing.
"Ely is an explosive wide forward that can not only run by players, but can also stick the ball into the back of the net," Baarts said. "We are extremely excited to pick up an experienced attacking player that, in conjunction with her teammates will create a dynamic offense. I truly believe that Ely will have a seamless transition from junior college to DI soccer."
