OKLAHOMA CITY – NM State women's soccer midfielder
Corey Kizer was named to the 2019 Women's Premier Soccer League Pac South All-Conference team. Clubs within each of the four conferences nominated players to determine its respective All-Conference team.
Â
"Corey has been an incredibly versatile player for our squad," said head coach
Rob Baarts. "Not only can she score goals, she can also defend. Her work rate and willingness to learn have made Corey a mainstay in the NM State lineup. We are very proud of Corey for being named to WPSL All-Conference Team."
Â
The Placitas, N.M., native played for Albuquerque FC of the WPSL over the summer of 2019. She competed at both midfield and forward and was a dynamic presence up top. The sophomore led Albuquerque FC in goals (5) and points (11).
Â
Kizer appeared in 16 games with one start for the Aggies as a freshman last season, mostly playing at the forward position. She registered three shots on the season and scored a goal against Arizona State in an exhibition prior to the 2018 season. This season, Kizer has already made two starts in the midfield for NM State.
Â
The WPSL is in its 23rd season and is the largest women's soccer league in the world with more than 100 clubs from coast-to-coast. WPSL rosters feature elite collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep student-athletes. Many of the United States' most accomplished women's players have played in the WPSL, including household names such as Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Julie Foudy and Brandi Chastain.
