FT. COLLINS, Colo. – The New Mexico State women's tennis team wrapped things up at the Jon Messick Invitational on Sunday at the CSU Outdoor Tennis Complex.

The Aggies had a tough time at the start of the day, dropping both of their matches to Colorado State's team by scores of 6-4 and 6-3, respectively. In the second round of doubles action, NM State split its two matches with
Lucija Josipovic and
Chloe Gavino winning over CSU's Riley Reeves and Anastasiia Kotsyuba 6-3.

Singles play saw Gavino pick up another win, this time against the Rams' Emma Corwin 6-4, 6-4. Freshman
Bella Nguyen dropped a tough match to Emily Luetschwager 4-6, 6-1, 7-5 despite taking the first set. Josipovic wasn't able to fend off against Kotsyuba and fell 7-5, 6-1.

The women's tennis team will get a month off before heading all the way to DeLand, Fla., for the Stetson Invitational (Nov. 1-3).
