NM State, Dixie State to Clash on Gridiron This Spring

| By:

The Aggies will host the Trailblazers on March 6, 2021, at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State football has another game lined up for this spring.

The Aggies added FCS foe Dixie State to their revised schedule on Thursday, tacking on a second opponent to play during the spring of 2021. The two programs will meet for the first time when they clash on March 6 inside Aggie Memorial Stadium.

NM State, which postponed the 2020 football season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, previously added Tarleton State to the revised schedule. The Aggies and Texans will square off on Feb. 20, 2021, at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Dixie State, led by head coach Paul Peterson, went 8-3, including a 7-3 mark in conference play, in 2019 - its last season as a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (DII). Like Tarleton State, the Trailblazers made the move up to the FCS ahead of the 2020 NCAA DI FCS football season, which was also postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will compete as an independent this upcoming spring.
