PHOENIX - Aggie fans have been clamoring for a marquee game on the NM State men's basketball team's 2020-21 non-conference schedule and now they have one.
In an announcement made Tuesday afternoon, the Aggies added their first Power Five opponent to their 2020-21 schedule by unveiling a Saturday, Dec. 12 clash at Pac-12 foe Arizona.
A tip-off time and TV network for the showdown have not yet been determined but those details will be announced when finalized. No fans will be allowed to attend the game.
The showdown between the Aggies and Wildcats on Saturday, Dec. 12 will be the 103rd all-time meeting between the two programs. Arizona has won the last six games between the two clubs and in the last 12 meetings the series is tied at 6-6. Arizona leads the all-time series 62-40.
The clubs met last season at the McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz., and it was the #17/19 Wildcats who emerged with an 83-53 triumph against a short-handed NM State squad.
