"I am really proud of our team's reaction to our situation this weekend," said head coach
Rick Pratt. "Despite the format change, we've still been able to have some incredible performances and have an energetic and positive presence on deck. Starting the morning by smashing the school record in the 200 Free Relay was exciting. To have it all come from underclassmen looks great for the future of our sprinting. We kept swimming tough throughout the session and swam personal best times throughout the morning.Â
Reagan Nentwich was outstanding and swam an NCAA B cut in the 100 Fly and it was the 2nd fastest swim in that event in program history. Maude also rebounded well after slipping on her start in the individual 100 Back event to swimming the second fastest In that event ever as the leadoff of the relay."
Â
Day three consisted of the 200 Free Relay as well as timed finals for the events originally scheduled for today. The timed finals stood in place of a preliminary round and a final round after a water main break in Houston shut down the university of Houston campus.
Â
Aimee Burton,
Airam Oliva-Aun,
Neza Kocijan and
Natalia Villa the shortened session with a bang, placing second and setting a school record in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:32.12.
Â
Jordan Andrusak also had a stellar day in the pool, picking two third-place finishes for the Aggies. She just missed second place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.38 to the 2:02.32 recorded by CBU's Isabella Rhodes. Andrusak also added a third place finish in the 400 IM.
Â
Reagan Nentwich made an NCAA B cut in the 100 Fly and also came just shy of the school record 52.96 with a time of 53.74.
Â
"We're in the mix as the top four teams are very close," added Pratt. "Hopefully tomorrow's events will be back to normal, but over all we're very proud of our team's grit and resilience."
Â
The WAC is still unsure about tomorrow's schedule of events due to a water main break in Houston. We will update this story on
