ALBUQUERQUEÂ - The Aggies left their mark on the first day of their return visit to The Duke City, competing at the UNM Collegiate Classic Friday evening.

Lanie Whelpley set a new indoor personal best in the 400m, finishing seventh overall with a time of 56.56. Her mark is tied for the sixth-best performance in school history.

Jess Dominguez, meanwhile, each claimed top-10 finishes in the 3000m race. Hanson took ninth with a personal-best time of 10:11.04, and Dominguez finished right behind her at 10th with a time of 10:15.63.
The action continues tomorrow morning from the Albuquerque Convention Center. The second and final day of the meet begins with the shot put at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and the competition wraps up on the track, concluding with the 4x400m relay at 2:30 p.m.
