LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Add another accolade to the NBA résumé of former NM State Aggie Pascal Siakam.
Wednesday afternoon in an announcement made by the league, Siakam was named to the All-NBA Second Team. With the news, Siakam is the first NM State men's basketball player in program history to earn All-NBA honors.Â
A star for the Toronto Raptors, Siakam averaged 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals while playing 35.2 minutes per game in 2019-20. Among all NBA players, Siakam's scoring average was the 17th-best in the league and he was one of only nine players to averaged at least 22 points and seven rebounds per game.Â
Through the season, Siakam generated shooting splits of .453/.359/.792 and helped Toronto secure the number-two seed in the Eastern Conference for the 2020 NBA Playoffs. This year, Siakam was also named a starter for the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.Â
Since being chosen by the Raptors with the 27th overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, Siakam has been named the league's Most Improved Player (2019) and won an NBA Championship (2019 with the Raptors.
