DALLAS – Led by
Jordan Andrusak and
Lindsay Puhalski, the NM State swimming and diving program fell to the SMU Mustangs 161-77 at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.
A native of Victoria, British Colombia, Andrusak (2:24.77) finished three seconds clear of teammates
Skylar Welle and
Natalia Villa.
Other Aggie highlights included the 400 yard freestyle relay of
Aimee Burton,
Lindsay Puhalski,
Lauren Hemburrow and
Neza Kocijan finishing first and Burton finishing third in the 50 free (23.96) and fourth in the 100 free (52.82).
With the setback today, the Aggies fall to 1-2 on the season in meets. The Aggies dropped the opener against Northern Colorado back on Oct. 9 and defeated New Mexico in a dual-meet last weekend (197-156).
HC RICK PRATT:
"Despite the loss, the score does not indicate the efforts and quality performances we had today. We had over a dozen season-best times today and swam well despite the travel. We faced a very good team today and learned a lot through this experience."
UP NEXT:
The Aggies return to action tomorrow (Nov. 6) for a dual-meet at North Texas. The action gets started at 11 a.m.
