LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team has signed UNLV transfer Melanie Isbell, head coach
Brooke Atkinson announced on Thursday.

"She is a proven winner and champion as she played for one of the best high school programs in the nation and made an immediate impact on the court at UNLV. Melanie is a floor general with a relentless motor who will be a great addition to our program."

The Las Vegas, Nev., product played in 30 games for UNLV as a freshman during the 2019-20 season. She finished the year with 133 points, 57 rebounds, 21 steals and scored a career-high 13 points at Colorado State on Feb. 19.

Coming out of Centennial High School, Isbell was a highly touted recruit. She was a two-time All-State and All-Division selection and was the 27
th ranked point guard by ESPN. Isbell was also a McDonald's All-American nominee.
