HERRIMAN, Utah - It was a defensive battle on a frigid night at the Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah, as NM State (2-4) fell to Utah Valley (3-3-1) 2-0 in a WAC matchup Thursday night.
The two teams struggled to get anything going offensively all night, but the Wolverines were able to score in the 23rd minute and tacked on one more goal in the 89th minute.
The Aggies had a couple of chances early in the game with a corner kick in the second minute but were unable to capitalize. The Aggies were able to get off just two shots from senior
Emma Smith and freshman
Gia Valenti.
Makenna Gottschalk held the Wolverines in check for the majority of the game, as she compiled six saves to bring her season total to 18.Â
The two teams will be back in action for a Saturday matinee matchup at 2 p.m. The match will be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network.Â
