SALT LAKE CITY -
Facing off against its second consecutive Pac-12 foe to begin the 2021 season, the NM State women's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to Utah Thursday afternoon at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.

DOUBLES
• The Aggies couldn't get much going in tandem play against their Pac-12 foe. Chloe Gavino and Lucija Josipovic fell 6-1 to the Utes' top-flight duo of Jasmine Rich and Anastasia Goncharova.
• Utah sewed up the doubles point after Miranda Bishard and Bella Nguyen found themselves on the wrong end of a 6-2 result against Anya Lamoreux and Lindsay Hung on line two.

SINGLES
• Once singles play got going, the Utes continued to pick up wins. Josipovic suffered a 6-0, 6-1 defeat at the hands of Rich in sixth-flight singles before Gavino dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Hung on line two. Gavino's setback pushed the Utes' lead to 3-0.
• Utah clinched the win when Bishard lost her one-on-one match against Goncharova 6-2, 6-2 in flight number three.
• Before the match was called, Utah added another point when Nguyen was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Lamoreaux.

COMING UP NEXT
