Box Score SALT LAKE CITY - Junior Gavi Kalaga secured her first singles win of the season, a 6-3, 6-4 victory on line four, but it was the only point the NM State women's tennis team picked up in its 6-1 setback to Weber State Friday at the Eccles Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Utah. 

DOUBLES
• Things could have easily gone either way for the Aggies in doubles action, but in the end it was the Wildcats who made all the right moves. Weber State won 6-2 on line one before Chloe Gavino and Lucija Josipovic dropped a narrow 7-6 decision in third-flight action. 
• Bella Nguyen and Miranda Bishard suffered just as bad of a tough-luck loss on line two, falling 7-5 to Pei-Hsuan Kuo and Megan Davies. 

SINGLES
• Weber State won their singles matches on lines six, three and five to lock up the win, but the teams continued on and finished up the remaining three one-on-one bouts. 
• Kalaga got the better of Kuo 6-3, 6-4 in fourth-flight singles to break up the Wildcats' shutout bid and Gavino won her opening set against Lombardi by a 6-3 tally before dropping the next two sets 7-6 and 11-9.
• Harsha Challa faced off in a pitched battle with Yuuna Ukita in top-flight singles play only to suffer a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 loss at the end of the day. 

COMING UP NEXT
• The Aggies will enjoy a break of two weeks before their next non-conference action. On Friday, Feb. 19, NM State starts a two-match swing in the state of Texas when it heads to Nacogdoches to take on Southland Conference - and soon-to-be-WAC member - SFA at the Schlief Tennis Complex. First serve has been set for 1:00 p.m.
