TUCSON, Ariz. - The NM State track and field team wrapped up its first meet of the year at the Willie Williams Classic Saturday afternoon in Tucson, Ariz.
On the track,
Valissa Brown got the Aggies going in the 110m hurdles, as she finished 10th with a time of 14.56.
Lanie Whelpley had a solid effort in the 400m dash, as she posted a time of 56.82 to finish sixth.
Sheyenne Drake (2:18.64) and
Calicia Perea (2:29.19) finished eighth and ninth respectively in the 800m run.
Asjah Wallace gave the Aggies a solid performance in the 100m dash, as she finished eighth with a time of 12.20.
In the field, the Aggies had just four entries, and they were all in the discus throw.
Makiya Moore led the host of Aggies with a throw of 45.44 meters to finish ninth.
Rebecca Green finished 12th with a toss of 39.46 meters while
Kaitlyn Ward took 14th with a throw of 37.75 meters.
The Aggies will continue its season next Friday and Saturday at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
