LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The NM State outdoor track and field team continues its season at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif., on Friday and Saturday. The Aggies will compete in one event on Friday, the hammer throw, beginning at 5 p.m. MT. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. MT on Saturday with track events beginning a 1 p.m. MT.

Last Time Out
The Aggies had a solid team performance last week at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz. Yemisi Oroyinyin led the way for the Aggies with a second-place finish in the shot put (14.16m) and a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw (51.01m). Israel Swanson had a a solid meet finishing third in the 400m hurdles (1:04.53). Lanie Whelpley finished sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 56.82 and fifth in the 200m dash with a time of 25.29. Dascha Robinson continued her success in the jumps finishing fifth in the triple jump (12.62m) and 11th in the long jump (5.43m).

The Aggies will head to Canyon, Texas, on Apr. 2-3 for the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi.
