Grand Canyon Up Next for NM State Soccer

LAS CRUCES, N.M.
- The NM State soccer team (2-5) will head to Phoenix, Ariz., for a Saturday afternoon match with Grand Canyon (1-5). Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at GCU Stadium, and the match will be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network. 

Last Time Out
The Aggies' offense struggled to produce, as they dropped two games to Utah Valley last Thursday and Saturday. The Aggies fell 2-0 in Thursday's game and 4-0 in Saturday's game. Redshirt senior Dmitri Fong was the bright spot for the Aggies, as she recorded six saves in Saturday's game.

Scouting the Antelopes
Grand Canyon is off to a 1-5 start in the 2020-21 season with their lone win coming against Utah Valley on Feb. 20. Grand Canyon is led by redshirt sophomore Jaycee Iranshad. Iranshad has two goals for the Antelopes this season and also leads the team in shots (18) and shot on goals (8). Redshirt sophomore Hayden Wallace will be in the net for the Antelopes, as she has recorded 40 saves but has given up 14 goals.

The Series
The Aggies are 2-6 against Grand Canyon with their last win coming in a 2-1 double overtime victory in 2017. In 2019, the Antelopes took down the Aggies by a score of 2-1.

Up Next
The Aggies will return "home" next week when they take on UTRGV next Thursday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.) at University Field in El Paso, Texas. Both games will be streamed live on the WAC Digital Network.
