THE KICKOFF
•The New Mexico State soccer team is set to travel to the Lone Star State for a pair of road matches beginning with a match at Texas on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m. (MT).

• NM State heads to Texas as the lone remaining unbeaten team in the Western Athletic Conference. This is the third match in a six-match road swing for the Aggies.

• Thursday's showdown is the first meeting between the two programs and just the Aggies' second match against a Big 12 opponent. NM State lost to Texas Tech in Lubbock during 2011 season.

Hannah Leitner was named WAC offensive Player of the week after recording an assists in NM State's win over UC Davis before pouring in two goals and an assist in the win over Nevada.

MAKING HISTORY
• Following a 3-2 win at Nevada on Sunday, Aug. 29, the 2021 Aggie squad made history, becoming the first team in program history to start a season with a perfect 3-0 record.

• This is the latest in the season the Aggies have remained unbeaten since a 2-0-1 start in 2010.

• NM State scored twice in the first 10 minutes on its way to a 3-2 win over former WAC rival Nevada in Reno.
