THE FIRST SERVE
• The NM State women's tennis program ventures to central Texas this weekend to compete in the Incarnate Word Cardinal Classic – a three-day event.
• The tournament is set to begin at 9 a.m. each day.
 
THE FIELD
• In addition to NM State, student-athletes from Tarleton, Angelo State, UT Rio Grande Valley and North Texas will also compete this weekend.
 
THE DOUBLES DRAWS
• In doubles play, the tandem of Anna Pinaieva and Lisa Zhu will compete in the 'A' Draw.
• Meanwhile, Natsuki Nishimura will play alongside Miranda Bishard in the 'B' Draw to open the weekend. They will battle with Isabelle Bahr and Yaiza Vazquez of fellow WAC foe UTRGV.
• Bella Nguyen and Melissa Cartis will also participate in the 'B' Draw where they will face off with another WAC duo in Elsa Boisson and Ximena Morales of Tarleton.
• The 'C' Draw will feature NM State's Dora Kurdi and Georgia Townsend against UTRGV's Sofia De Leon and Valeria Montero.
 
THE SINGLES DRAWS
• In singles action, Lisa Zhu will be matched up against Incarnate Word's Sofia Franco Salcedo in the 'A' Draw. Anna Pinaeiva will also take on the field in the 'A' draw as she prepares for Tarleton's Martha Makantasi.
• Natsuki Nishimura will start her second weekend of singles action this season with a bout against Vazquez of UTRGV.
• The 'D' draw is where Miranda Bishard will open her weekend as she battles with Angelo State's Vishnevskaya. Bella Nguyen also finds her name among the 'D' draw competitors – lining up against UTRGV's Mamicova.
• Melissa Cartis' first singles match of the weekend will be against Angelo State's Irinki in the 'E' Draw while Dora Kurdi takes on the 'F' Draw beginning with a tilt against UTRGV's Montero.
