SAN ANTONIO – NM State wrapped up play at the Cardinal Classic on the campus of Incarnate Word University on Sunday evening. Junior Natsuki Nishimura headlined the results for the Aggies as she took home the singles title in the C Draw and finished her weekend with a perfect 3-0 record. Additionally, the Aggies posted a perfect 2-0 record in doubles play on Sunday.
 
Singles

• Nishimura, a native of Shikigaoki, Japan, picked up her fifth win of the fall season as she took down UT Rio Grande Valley's Lea Karren in the C Draw East Finals – winning 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). With the result, Nishimura now leads NM State in singles victories through two weekends of play.
• After a pair of losses on Friday and Saturday, Lisa Zhu bounced back on the final day of competition as she secured a dominant 6-1, 6-0, victory over Angelo State's Dianela Rodriguez in the South bracket of the A Draw.
• Freshman Anna Pinaieva showed her potential on Sunday as she pushed Angelo State's Sofia Pinto to a tiebreaker before falling 7-6 (7-5), 5-7 (8-10) in the West Finals of the A Draw.

 
Doubles

• NM State's undefeated day in doubles play began with a win on behalf of Pinaieva and Zhu as they fought their way to a 6-4 victory over the duo of Franco Salcedo and Montalvo from host Incarnate Word in the third-place match of the A Flight.
• Lastly, Nishimura and Miranda Bishard joined forces to claim a 6-2 win over Angelo State's Rodriguez and Vishnevskaya in the third-place match of the B Flight.

• The Aggies will turn right back around and get ready for another tournament next weekend when they travel to El Paso, Texas, for the UTEP Invitational.
• The three-day event is set to kick off on Friday, Nov. 4, with competition concluding on Sunday, Nov. 6.
