FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Aggies wrapped up their weekend as they competed against tough competition in the platform event on Sunday morning. As she did on days one and two, junior
Italia Aranzabal led the way for the Crimson and White.
"Today was a solid day," said diving coach
Miranda King. "The three freshmen all improved their platform scored by 15 to 30 points each. They have been working hard during our platform training trips and it is showing in their competition scores. Overall, it was a solid weekend for the divers. Having this meet so close to conference allows us to see what specific things we need to work on for the next few weeks and the girls are ready to put the final touches on their lists."
Although no Aggie divers qualified for finals, Aranzabal finished with a prelims score of 172.85 to finish 24
th among a stacked field that included divers from San Diego State, Northern Arizona, Idaho and New Mexico. The remaining three NM State divers fell in line just behind Aranzabal as
Casey Schmidt took 25
th (160.15),
Kate Malinowski landed in 26
th (134.30) and
Erin Orn rounded out the group in 27
th (132.15).
