McKee, Gastelum, and Tungprapunvong named to the exclusive list

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Three members of the NM State women's golf team were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team on Tuesday. Amelia McKee, Meiji Tungprapunvong, and Alison Gastelum were recognized for their efforts in the classroom in addition to the golf course.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are come of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA requirement of 3.50.

McKee was the lone senior on the Aggies throughout the 2021-22 school year. Even after graduation, McKee adds to her already impressive resume with the WGCA All-American honors in addition to being an All-WAC selection.

As a freshman, Tungprapunvong exceled in every aspect of being a collegiate student-athlete. The Bangkok, Thailand native was a regular in the NM State lineup throughout the year and is bound to become a leader around the program for years to come.

Much like McKee, Gastelum is working towards an impressive resume after her first few years in the program. The two-time All-WAC selection and former Freshman of the Year, Gastelum picks up WGCA All-American Scholar honors. Gastlelum will once again be a key piece in the NM State lineup throughout the 2022-23 season as a senior.
