U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – NM State returned to action at the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains on Friday as they continued doubles action and began singles play.
 
NM State finished the day with a trio of wins in doubles play beginning with a win for the duo of Lisa Zhu and Anna Pinaieva as they knocked off Utah State's County and Burton to advance to the semifinals in the Alpha Draw.
 
Melissa Cartis and Georgia Townsend also joined Zhu and Pinaieva in the semifinals of their respective draw as they defeated Air Force's Cotuna and Alda in the quarterfinals of the Charlie Draw.
 
Miranda Bishard and Bella Nguyen also combined to pick up a win on the day as they conquered Idaho's Horecek and Dowse on the consolation side of the Bravo Draw.
 
As singles play began on Thursday, all eight Aggies found themselves with five matchups across five draws in Colorado. Leading the charge was Natsuki Nishimura who earned her way into the quarterfinals of the Bravo Draw by way of defeating Lisa Kung of Utah State, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.
 
Meanwhile, Lisa Zhu was able to pick up a win over Utah State's Lisa Kung in the consolation portion of the Alpha Draw – winning 7-5, 6-2.
 
Melissa Cartis also claimed a win in singles play as she downed Idaho's Saffron Dowse by a commanding score of 6-3, 6-0.
