RESULTS

COLLLEGE STATION, Texas – Taking their talents to Watts Cross Country Course in the final meet of the regular season, NM State out together a strong showing at the Arturo Barrios Invitational – hosted by Texas A&M. Dealing with humid, overcast conditions throughout the morning did little to slow the Aggies, as both Thomas Croshaw and Maggie Gibbs recorded personal bests to lead the Crimson & White.

At day's end, the women collected a 20th place finish with 518 points, while the men finished 26th with 697.

Thomas Croshaw proved himself in the men's 8k to begin the morning, improving his time throughout the race, jumping from 65th through the first 2k to finish 42nd – among 365 entrants – with a time of 24.08.2. This mark represents a personal best for the freshman from Albuquerque, eclipsing his previous best set at the Dave Murray Invitational (24.45.2).

Collins Yege crossed the line second for the Aggies, posting a time of 24:30.3 to take 76th. Like Croshaw, this is also a new personal record for Yego, surpassing the mark set at last years WAC Cross Country Championships.

Nick Allred joined Croshaw and Yego as Aggies to set personal bests on the day, crossing the line with a time of 25:26.4 to finish third for NM State. Micah Too (25:45.2) and Derick Castellanos (25:57.0) rounded out the top-five finishes for the Crimson & White.

Over on the women's side of the action, Maggie Gibbs led the way for NM State, tallying a new personal best with a time of 20:32.0 to finish 41st among 385 participants. This is the second straight meet where Gibbs has posted a career mark, recording a then record time of 20:52.4 at the Dave Murray Invitational (Sept. 29).

Thulisile Amon recorded the second-best time of the day for NM State, crossing the line with a mark of 21:03.7. As has been the case throughout their collegiate careers, sister Thobile Amon was not far behind, finishing with a time of 21:09.1 on the day.

Jordan Torres continued to put together a strong 2023 campaign, once again setting a personal best with a time of 22:40.2. Setting a personal record in the 5k at the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open to begin the year, the sophomore from El Paso has posted a new personal best in each race this season.

Murrie Dodge (23:16.1) and Mari Gallegos (23:53.3) became the sixth and seventh Aggies to post new personal records from Watts Cross Country Course.
