SALT LAKE CITY – NM State's first day at the ITA Mountain Regionals produced a pair of doubles wins to set up two more matches on Thursday. On day two of the tournament,
Lisa Zhu and
Valeriia Ivanovskaia represented the Crimson and White well – advancing with a win.
For the second straight day, the tandem of
Lisa Zhu and
Valeriia Ivanovskaia were among the top doubles teams of the entire field as they fought to claim a spot in the Round of 16 thanks to a commanding victory over New Mexico's Maria Sodre and Sofia Taborga.
With the win over the Lobo duo, NM State's Zhu and Ivanovskaia will now do battle with a second Denver team in Carolina Driscoll and Anastasia Simonov on Friday morning.
