Tinani Leads the Way on Day One of the Lumberjack Diving Invite

Freshman finishes second in 1-meter consolation final.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The opening day of the Lumberjack Diving Invite came to a conclusion on Friday afternoon.

Following a ninth-place finish and a score of 238.40 in the prelims, freshman Mira Tinani posted the highest finish by an Aggie as she finished second in the consolation final with a score of 250.55 – less than two points shy of her season best.

Meanwhile, fellow Aggie Casey Schmidt also battled her way into the consolation final where she secured a seventh-place finish with a score of 212.45 to tally her best score at the 1-meter height this season.

The Aggie divers will return to the boards on Saturday morning as they compete in the 3-meter event. Prelims for Saturday's competition is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. MT while finals are set to begin at 1 p.m.
