FINAL RESULTS & STATS
BLAINE, Wash. – After back-to-back-to-back WAC Women's Golf Championships, NM State's time at the top has come to an end. The Aggies finished the 2023 edition of the conference tournament in third place, shooting 892 (+28) as a team.
Both Alison Gastleum and
Emma Bunch finshed the tournament inside the top ten as individuals. Gastelum was in a five-way tie for first place before a late bogey took away her chances at the throne. Gastelum shot a 70 (-2) in the final round to turn in an impressive 219 (+3) throughout the three-day event.
Bunch fired a 76 (+4) in the final round to complete her first WAC Championships in a tie for seventh place. Bunch, a freshman from Lynge, Denmark, turned in a 222 (+6) throughout the championship event.
Additionally,
Kaylee Chen and
Meiji Tungprapunvong both finished the tournament tied for seventeenth. In Tuesday's final round, Chen led the duo, firing a 76 (+4)
Final Round Notes
- Sam Houston won the team championship and the WAC's automatic bid to NCAA Regionals.
- After a four-way playoff, Hailey Loh of California Baptist won the individual title and a spot in the NCAA Regionals.
- Alison Gastelum shot a 70 (-2) in Tuesday's final round to finish in fifth place.
- In her first WAC Championship, Emma Bunch tied for seventh, firing a 222 (+6) in the event.
