LAS CRUCES, N.M. – As the weather starts to heat up, the Aggies are ramping up to their final team meet of the season, the 2023 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Stephen F. Austin University. Beginning Thursday May 11th from Homer Bryce Stadium, NM State seeks their final WAC Championship trophy before the move to C-USA next season. In the WAC Pre-Championship Poll, the Aggies were tabbed first, in commanding fashion; receiving nine of a possible 13 first-place votes. Fans can tune in to ESPN+ or follow along with the action through live stats powered by NXT Timing.

- Aliyah Logan showed out, recording a personal best and setting a new school record with a time of 13.54 en route to a first-place finish.
- Phethisang Makhethe continued her dominant streak in the hammer throw, taking first place with a toss of 62.86 meters and scoring ten points for the Aggies
- Maggie Gibbs shattered her personal best by over three minutes while also eclipsing the school record by over 30 seconds, finishing with a time of 34:13.56 in the 10,000m.
- The Aggie relay team of Sierra Brewer, Grace Pendarvis, Jhana Downie, and Terice Steen combined for a time of 45.83, taking second and adding eight points to the total.

'Round the Region
- During the outdoor track & field season, the top-48 student-athletes in their respective regions get invited to the NCAA West Prelims in Sacramento, California (May 24-27th), a precursor to the NCAA Championships held at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field in Austin, Texas (June 7-10th).
- Ahead of the WAC Championships, several Aggies are in position to qualify.
