Forty-Three Aggie Student-Athletes Take Part in Spring 2023 Commencement Exercises

13 programs represented by nearly 50 student-athletes

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - This weekend, 43 current and former NM State student-athletes joined the ever-growing ranks of Aggie alumni nationwide by participating in the university's Spring 2023 Commencement ceremonies.

The weekend's commencement exercises consisted of a trio of different ceremonies at the Pan American Center, honoring over 1,400 graduates. Friday night, all master and doctoral degree recipients took part in a ceremony. Saturday, all Bachelor degree recipients were recognized across two separate ceremonies.

Football boasted the most graduates with 10, including former Aggie linebacker Terrill Hanks while women's track & field and baseball were next up with seven graduates each. Women's basketball saw four of its members receive diplomas, swimming and diving and women's tennis each had three student-athletes graduate, soccer and men's basketball put forth a pair of graduates while men's cross country, women's golf, softball and volleyball each had one graduate.

Of the 42 current student-athletes to graduate this spring, 15 individuals completed their academic journey with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher to earn Crimson Scholar honors.
