RESULTS

TUCSON, Ariz. – For the first time this season, NM State traveled west, heading to Tucson, Arizona for the Dave Murray Invitational, hosted by the University of Arizona. Competing with eight other teams, the Aggies finished second in the women's division with a total of 72 points, while the men captured fourth place in the team score (106 points), with Thomas Croshaw recording the top finish.

Competing first, the men stepped up to the line to run the 8k – the second consecutive 8k race following a season-opening 5k at the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open. Thomas Croshaw worked his way up the field throughout the race, crossing the line with a time of 24:45.2 to finish 13th, best among NM State entrants. This was the freshman from Albuquerque's first 8k meet after not participating at the Texas Tech Open two weeks ago.

Solidifying himself as a strong performer for the Crimson & White, Anekin Hetman crossed the line second for NM State, finishing 22nd with a time of 25:34.6. This is a season-best time for Hetman in the 8k after posting a time of 26:55.7 at the Texas Tech Open.

Derick Castellanos and Nick Allred finished back-to-back, taking 26th and 27th with times of 25:46.8 and 25:55.1 respectively.

For the second time this season Maggie Gibbs crossed the line first among Crimson & White student-athletes in the women's 6k, posting a time of 20:52.4 to take sixth place. This time also represents a personal best for the senior from Peoria, eclipsing her previous mark of 20:57.8, set at the 2021 WAC Cross Country Championships.

Emily Stutesman recorded a time of 21:32.0 to finish 13th and second-best on the team, while twins Thobile Amon and Thulisile Amon finished 16th and 17th, posting times of 21:49.5 and 21:49.7 respectively. This is the first meet of the season for Thobile Amon, coming off consecutive appearances in the NCAA Mountain Regional in 2022 and 2021.

Following a team-best finish two weeks ago in Lubbock, Jordan Torres recorded another strong performance, improving on her time by more than 50 seconds to post a time of 23:00.6 and cross the line 33rd.

For the second straight week, sophomore Angela Korte tallied a new personal best in the 6k – posting a time of 23:33.5 to finish 43rd. Along with Korte, Murrie Dodge (23:47.7) and Nia Allison (24:01.6) also tallied new career-best marks.
