ABILENE, Texas – On Saturday, the Aggies participated in eight total matches as they completed the second day of action at the ACU Invite.
Despite battling hard in several matches on the day, the lone Aggie to come away from Saturday with a victory was
Dora Kurdi. Kurdi fought hard to earn a come-from-behind three-set win in her singles match against Tarleton's Adeliya Mukhutdinova. Against the Texan, Kurdi dropped the opening set in a tiebreaker before bouncing back to win sets two and three. With the win, Kurdi lands a spot in the Flight D singles final against ACU's Masha Vrsalovic.
In the doubles championship bout against Texas Tech's Andreea Lila and Jermine Sherif, the Aggie tandem of
Lisa Zhu and
Valeriia Ivanovskaia nearly claimed a title, but were edged out by their counterparts.
