LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following a successful cross country season capped with a third-place finish at the CUSA Cross Country Championships, the Aggies will return to action at the Stan Scott Memorial, hosted by Texas Tech. The one-day meet kicks off NM State's 2024 Indoor season, and is slated to be the only meet outside the Land of Enchantment for the Aggies until the CUSA Championships in Lynchburg, Virginia slated for Feb. 23-24. Following the opening weekend, the Crimson & White will compete at three straight meets hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Starting Line
  • The Aggies will open their indoor track season in Lubbock for the fourth straight year, with each prior season opening at the Corky Classic. Competing at the Sports Performance Center, the 48 million dollar facility houses an indoor practice field for football and an indoor track and field competition complex.
  • The Stan Scott Memorial will play host to nine women's track and field teams including the Aggies (Texas Tech, West Texas A&M, South Plains, Barton County CC, Lubbock Christian, NMJC, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Western Texas College)
  • NM State will compete in thirteen events, highlighted by seven student-athletes competing in the 3000m run, including 2023 Second Team All-CUSA selection (XC) Maggie Gibbs.
  • Senior Jhana Downie is set to compete in the 200m, where she took home the gold medal in both the indoor and outdoor 2023 WAC Track & Field Championships.

  • Makiya Moore finished the weight throw in sixth place after making it into the finals with a 16.66m (54-8") mark on her second throwing attempt. First-year Aggie transfer Miranda Tcheutchoua made her NM State debut and finished in tenth place, just missing the cut for finals by a few inches with a throw distance of 15.98m (52-5.25").
  • In the 1000m run, Thulisile Amon outlasted the competition to take first place in the race after an event-best time of 3:00.47, falling just shy of her own personal record (2:59.00).
