LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Aggies won 13-9 in game two of the four game series against South Dakota State. The Aggies and the Jackrabbits traded blows throughout the game, however, the Aggies were able to stay on top for seven innings.
The action started quickly as the Jackrabbits would put one on the board to open the game. The Aggies answered the run in the bottom of the first with one score themselves.
After a scoreless second inning, the Aggies bats woke up again as they put up two runs to take the lead. The scoring would continue in each of the next five innings.
In the fourth inning, the Aggies put up four runs; their highest-scoring inning in the game.
South Dakota State was able to gain more life as they would put up four runs in the top of the sixth, one in the seventh and three in the eighth. Those innings were never enough for them to cut the deficit by more than two runs.
The Aggies recorded two doubles and nine doubles in today's outing on 30 at bats. As a team the Aggies were walked eleven times and hit by the pitcher on three separate occasions.
Josh Sharman went 4.0 innings pitches only giving up one hit. In his outing Sharman only let two runs cross home plate with one of them being earned.
Three Aggies had a multi-hit game; Keith Jones II, Steve Solorzano and Gianni Horvat with two hits apiece. Both Jones and Solorzano drove in one run.
Center fielder Jadon Arakaki and designated hitter Damone Hale led the team in RBI's as they each had two apiece.
