Live Scoring
THE FIRST SERVE
• NM State was most recently in action at North Texas on Feb. 1. There, the Aggies fought valiantly before falling to the Mean Green 5-2. NM State was also slated to play Stephen F. Austin and Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Nacogdoches, Texas, but was denied the opportunity due to inclement weather.
• NM State will look to snap a five-match losing streak to UT Arlington, who has won each match against the Aggies since the 2008-09 season. However, this will be only the second time the Mavericks and Aggies have faced off in Las Cruces in the series history.
•
Natsuki Nishimura had a commanding singles victory her last time out, needing only two sets to beat her opponent. Both of her single wins this season have come in this fashion.
•
Anna Pinaieva also showed true grit her last outing, defeating her Mean Green adversary 6-1, 3-6, 7-6.
•
Whitney Moon and
Dora Kurdi collected their second win of the season against North Texas, remaining a reliable duo at the No. 3 spot.
UP NEXT
NM State will get some needed time off before hitting the road to Las Vegas to face the UNLV Rebels. The match is scheduled for Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. MT at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. This will also begin a stretch of four matches away from the NM State Tennis Complex for the Aggies as they will not compete on their home courts again until March 1.
