LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following a week away from competition, the Aggies return this weekend for a quintet of meets in California. These will mark the last time NM State will participate in meets west of Arizona this season. Day one of action is set to kick off with the Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday, Apr. 11, running through Saturday, Apr. 13.
Starting Line
- Teams participating in these meets include Alabama, Missouri, Mississippi State, Louisville, Maryland, Utah Valley, New Mexico and UTEP, among others.
- The Aggies are slated to compete in 18 events on the weekend across five different meets.
- After the conclusion of this weekend, NM State has just two weeks of competition ahead of the 2024 CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in El Paso, Texas, from May 10-12.

- Highlighting the Stanford Invitational, Los Alamos native Rebecca Green posted a school record in the shot put while taking first place.
- Returning to action for Saturday's 100m hurdle finals, Aliyah Logan improved on her time in Friday's prelims, finishing in fourth place with a wind-adjusted time of 13.06 seconds – a new school record.
- Cameron Hodges competed in the triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational held in San Marcos, Texas, on Saturday, posting a best mark of 11.46m (37-7.25").
- Maggie Gibbs already held the NM State record in the event with a time of 34:13.56, set at the 2022 WAC Track & Field Championships, but would shatter that mark in Palo Alto. Crossing the line with a time of 33:55.79, the Peoria, Ariz., native bested herself and set a new school record.
- Nia Allison, Angela Korte and Marlene Mosqueda would later be joined by Vanessa Gracian for the distance medley relay. The quartet finished with a time of 12:10.26, taking second behind Chico State.

- Bailey Beene kicked off the weekend with a personal best performance in the javelin throw, breaking her previous mark of 43.48 meters with a best new mark of 45.09m – taking fourth place in the event overall.
- Going up against a deep field featuring 71 athletes, Jhana Downie not only took the top spot in her heat, but the top spot in the event by recording a time of 23.66 seconds – a new outdoor personal best for the Junior out of Sunrise, Florida.
