LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Athletics announced Thursday that it will work in conjunction with the NMSU Foundation as they unroll its new flash campaign, "Founders Day | 1888 Minutes of Giving".
 
Year after year, the NMSU Foundation rallies alumni and supporters nationwide to bolster critical initiatives such as enhancing student emergency services, empowering New Mexico State's community colleges, bolstering scholarships, fostering entrepreneurship, facilitating student research, enabling studying abroad opportunities, and much more.
 
In honor of the university's establishment in 1888, this year's Founders Day event will unfold over precisely 1,888 minutes, commencing on Tuesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. MT and concluding on Wednesday, April 24, at 5:28 p.m.
 
The Foundation has set an ambitious target of $188,888 for this campaign, and NM State Athletics has accepted the invitation to contribute to this cause. Donations given to the athletics fund are crucial to supporting the educational expenses of all Aggie student-athletes and directly pay for the costs of books, fees, summer school, nutrition, as well as room and board. The lifelong lessons and education they receive in Las Cruces have the potential to transform communities that Aggie student-athletes contribute to in life after athletics.
