LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After tallying a strong performance at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships, NM State returns to action on Friday, Nov. 14, for the NCAA Mountain Regionals, held at the Salt Lake City Regional Athletics Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hosted by the University of Utah, both men's and women's teams will compete, with the women's 6k starting at 10:30 a.m. MT, followed by the men's 8k at 11:30 a.m. MT. The Starting Line
- The Aggies will compete alongside the 18 other members of the NCAA's Mountain Region, including Air Force, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, Texas Tech, UTEP, Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State and Wyoming.
- First-year Aggie Omer Ibrahim will make his debut in the NCAA format after recording the third-quickest time among NM State student-athletes at the CUSA Championships (25:07.1, 8k).
- On the women's side, Murrie Dodge and true freshman Ainsleigh Kasprick will make their Regional debuts. Eloïse Stuart will make her second appearance in a regional format but first in the Mountain Region, competing in the South Region for Miami (FL) last season.
- In total, 13 student-athletes will make the trip to Salt Lake City, with six student-athletes from the men's squad and seven from the women's.
- NM State will match up with elite competition in both the men's and women's races – BYU is ranked atop the USTFCCA Coaches' Poll on the women's side, one of five teams from the Mountain Region among the top-30 teams.
- New Mexico holds the top spot among Mountain Region members in the men's edition (eighth), one of six teams among the top-30.
Trophy Time
- On Oct. 17 at the Dave Murray Invitational, NM State secured both the individual championship and the women's team title. Amanda Radava collected a first-place finish with a 6k time of 22:01.8, with the Aggies taking the team title with a score of 29.
- This became the second team title for the NM State women in 2025, also notching first-place at the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open.
- This also becomes the second individual championship by an Aggie this season, following Andrew Gibby's top finish in the 5k at the Lobo Invitational (15:11.7).
All-Conference Aggies
- Nia Allison paced the Aggies at the CUSA Championships, recording a sixth-place finish in the women's 6k – the best finish on either Crimson & White squad. This earned her First Team All-CUSA honors, the first to do so for NM State since 2023 (Thulisile and Thobile Amon).
- Senior Amanda Radava recorded her second straight all-conference honor at NM State, taking 11th overall to tally second team status.
- Andrew Gibby similarly notched his second consecutive CUSA honor, taking the top spot for the Aggies on the men's side (16th), earning third-team honors.
- Valeria Macias Casas steadily climbed throughout the race, earning a third team selection after finishing 19th with a time of 20:56.1.
Fresh Faces
- The Aggies welcome ten new members of the cross country teams, with a wealth of accolades and talent between them.
- NM State landed five transfers in Omer Ibrahim (Tarleton), Quenton Metz (Mesa CC), Adéla Steinsová (Purdue), Eloïse Stuart (Miami [FL]) and Nick Valle (Mesa CC).
- Along with the transfers, the Crimson & White added four freshman in the recruiting class – Abigail Beam, Ainsleigh Kasprick, Brooke Kelly, Melany Mosqueda and Kobe Rodriguez.
- Beam (Rio Rancho), Kelly (Albuquerque), and Rodriguez (Las Cruces) join from the Land of Enchantment, while Omer Ibrahim makes a return to the Borderland, competing at nearby Pebble Hills High School from 2020-2024.

- Opening the day of competition with the women's 6K, Jordan Torres claimed the top finish for the Crimson & White, taking 82nd overall with a time of 21:41.9. Senior Rachel O'Brien followed closely behind, crossing the line 84th with a mark of 21:43.6, while Khloi Bird rounded out the top-three finishes, posting a time of 21:47.4.
- Marlene Mosqueda and Valeria Macias Casas posted times of 22:11.0 and 22:13.5 respectively, in their first appearances at an NCAA regional.
- In the men's 10K, all seven members of NM State posted personal bests, including Thomas Croshaw who led the team with a 51st-place finish after posting a time of 30:27.3.
