LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After concluding a two-match road swing against Utah Tech and UNLV, the Aggies return home for a pair of contests this weekend. The action begins with the Battle of I-10 as rival UTEP makes the short 40-mile trip for a 10 a.m. showdown on Friday, Feb. 28. NM State will then cap off the weekend by hosting UC Irvine on Saturday, Mar. 1, also at 10 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT | VS UNLV (Feb. 22)
Last time out, NM State looked to build on its win over Utah Tech but fell 4-0 to UNLV in Las Vegas. The Aggies battled early in doubles, with Whitney Moon and Dora Kurda earning a 6-2 victory, but UNLV claimed the doubles point to gain the advantage.
With the match played to clinch, the Rebels secured the win with three straight-set victories in singles play. Anna Pinaieva and Lisa Zhu were close to forcing third sets, but UNLV held firm to close out the match and hand NM State the loss.
