Aggies Continue Fall Campaign at ACU Invite

NM State set to battle against a competitive 11-team field this weekend.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - NM State will journey to its next invitational of the fall season as they will participate in the ACU Invite in Abilene, Texas this week from Sept. 26-28. The event will feature the following schools ACU, Louisiana Tech, Texas Tech, Texas State, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, UT Arlington, UTSA and Tarleton State. The competition is set to begin at 9 a.m. each day.

LAST TIME OUT 

NM State closed the John Messick Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo., with a strong overall performance, highlighted by seven singles victories and a doubles win. Transfer Emma Petton and junior Whitney Moon each earned opening-day singles wins, with Petton following up on Saturday with another straight-set victory. Montana Parkinson-Lubold and Nadia Nemeth stood out, combining for four singles wins and advancing to the finals of their respective draws — Parkinson-Lubold with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory on Saturday, and Nemeth grinding out a three-set win to secure her finals spot. Nemeth also teamed with freshman Anna Klimova for NM State's lone doubles triumph of the event.
