Aggies Drop Sunday Contest at Dallas Baptist

Solorzano tallies third three-hit game of the season.

DALLAS – NM State couldn't keep the DBU offense at bay on Sunday afternoon at Horner Ballpark, falling 20-2 in the series finale after the Patriots recorded 12 runs in the fourth.

DBU struck immediately with five runs in the first, then added a solo home run in the third before breaking the game open in the fourth. The Patriots sent 17 hitters to the plate and hit a grand slam in the decisive inning, taking an 18–2 lead.

Steve Solorzano provided both NM State runs, launching a solo home run to right‑center in the third and later driving in Cole Rogers with an RBI single in the fourth. Solorzano finished 3‑for‑4 with two RBI and seven total bases, while Aidan Taclas added a double and Rogers chipped in a single. However, the Aggies were limited to six hits overall and went just 1‑for‑8 with runners in scoring position.

NOTABLES
  • Steve Solorzano produced his third three-hit game of the year, notching his eighth multi-hit game to pace all Aggies this season.
  • Tommy Meluskey increased his reached base streak to 14 games, leading all Aggies in this category.
